Your FieldLog records

FieldLog stores the account, equipment, location, and take information you enter so the application can provide its logging and export features.

Operational analytics

FieldLog records first-party page and API activity for reliability and service operations. Records can include the path or endpoint, timestamp, request method, status, response time, user agent, referrer, device category, authenticated user association, and a salted pseudonymous IP hash. The raw IP address is not stored in the analytics record; it is sent to ipapi only when the optional geolocation setting described below is enabled.

Security and application logs

FieldLog records security events separately from operational analytics. Depending on the event, these protected logs can contain email addresses, user IDs, raw IP addresses, and user agents. Log retention is deployment-specific and is controlled by the operator's logging configuration.

External services

FieldLog contacts the following providers only when the described feature runs.

OpenStreetMap

Your browser requests map tiles for the visible map viewport. The tile service receives the requester's IP address and the requested tile coordinates.

Open-Meteo

When weather is requested for a recorded location, FieldLog sends the field coordinates needed to retrieve that weather, at the precision they were recorded.

Nominatim

When an administrator enables location geocoding, FieldLog sends field coordinates to obtain a human-readable location. Latitude and longitude are rounded to two decimal places before they are sent, and each account can turn this off under Settings.

ipapi

When an administrator enables IP geolocation for analytics, FieldLog sends the visitor's IP address to estimate a coarse region.

unpkg

When a map page loads, your browser requests the Leaflet map library and marker assets. The service receives standard request information such as IP address and browser type.

jsDelivr

When an administrator opens analytics containing a chart, the browser requests the Chart.js library. The service receives standard request information such as IP address and browser type.

Google reCAPTCHA

When an operator enables reCAPTCHA on an authentication form, the browser contacts Google to perform the abuse check.

Google OAuth

When you choose configured Google OAuth sign-in, FieldLog exchanges authentication data with Google and receives basic profile details needed for your account.

Configured email provider

When FieldLog sends an account email, the configured mail service receives the destination email address and the message subject and content needed for delivery.

Operator controls

IP geolocation and location geocoding are optional deployment features. Maps and weather use their named providers when those features are used.
